The blokart was developed by inventor Paul Beckett in 1999. With a background in hangliding and land sailing, Paul was inspired to build a serious wind-powered land yacht.
Blokart is a New Zealand invented product, with the factory based 2 hours south of Auckland. The Blokart has become an ominousness part of the New Zealand culture, with the largest fleet of land sailors in the world. Many of which travel all over the world competing in both National and International regattas.
Tim Vance, Aussie Karting, became a dealer in 2012, instantly forming a passion for the sport. Tim has always been an active sailor, being involved in Hobie Cat racing, then after an illness, found blokart, and was able to continue his passion for sailing.
Tim is currently the president of the Victorian Blokart Association and the Australian Blokart Association. He is also an Australian representative of the International Blokart Racing Association.
Since sailing blokarts, Tim has traveled around the world, competing in Championships. It’s just great to be able to pack your gear into suitcase sized bags and go anywhere around the world.
